From Humble Beginnings to a Purpose-Driven Business

 

Meet Fernando, the heart behind Mass Cleaning LLC.

 

In 2020, when the world came to a pause, Fernando—then working as a waiter at a local Mexican restaurant in Knoxville—found himself without a job. With indoor dining halted due to pandemic restrictions, he was given six weeks away from work. But instead of standing still, Fernando used that time to reflect and reimagine his future.

 

Alongside his wife Lidia, he began searching for a way to serve others during a time when “essential work” had never been more important. While they didn’t have medical or technical training, one question lit their path:

 

How can we help those who help the world?

 

The answer was simple but powerful: cleaning. Not only is it essential to health and safety—it’s deeply rooted in Fernando’s past.

 

At just 8 years old, Fernando would help his mother clean hotel rooms after school. He learned to scrub, mop, vacuum, and polish with care, all while gaining a deep respect for the dignity of hard work. He even washed cars in the parking lot just to lend a hand and earn a few dollars. It wasn’t glamorous—but it was honest, meaningful, and rewarding.

 

This lifelong spirit of service became the foundation for Mass Cleaning LLC.

A Journey of Faith, Family, and Purpose

 

Fernando’s story began in La Piedad, Michoacán, Mexico, where he was born and raised. Inspired by family members who worked in the U.S., he dreamed of following in their footsteps. That dream came true at just 14 years old when he arrived in Knoxville, Tennessee, to work at his family’s Mexican restaurant. He stayed for nine incredible years.

 

In 2011, Fernando returned to La Piedad, where he reconnected with his childhood friend and future wife, Lidia. They married just five months later and soon made the decision to build their life together in Knoxville.

 

Today, Knoxville isn’t just where they work—it’s home. It’s where they raise their two beautiful children, Fernanda and Liam, and continue to pour love and effort into the business they built from the ground up.
